Cleveland ( kleev-lnd ) is a major city in the u.s. State of ohio, and the county seat of cuyahoga county. The city proper has a population of 383,793, making it the 52nd-largest city in the united states and the second-largest city in ohio. Greater cleveland is ranked as the 32nd-largest metropolitan area in the u.s., with 2,055,612 people in 2016. There were 207,536 housing units at an average density of 2,671.0 per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 53.3% african american, 37.3% white, 0.3% native american, 1.8% asian, 4.4% from other races, and 2.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or latino of any race were 10.0% of the population.
